‘Watch Dogs’ Companion App Launches on Android

By Patrick Shaw - Tue, May 27, 2014

Coinciding with today’s launch of Watch Dogs on PC and consoles, Ubisoft has released the official companion app for its hacker-themed, open-world action game.

Now available to download on Android, Watch_Dogs Companion: ctOS assigns players as a ctOS Operative embedded within the game’s fictionalized depiction of Chicago.

While piloting a police helicopter with the app, players can control various aspects of the city including ctOS-connected devices like traffic lights and even Chicago’s police forces.

Additionally, the ctOS app allows you to challenge other players to online matches, which are fully customizable within the app’s challenge editor.

Completing challenges will also earn you experience points (XP) and new skills.

We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Watch_Dogs Companion: ctOS and we’re quickly realizing that it is one of the most full-featured companion apps for a video game.

Surprisingly, the app does not require that you own Watch Dogs to use it. You do, however, need a valid Uplay account and an Internet connection to access all of the app’s features.

Watch_Dogs Companion: ctOS is now free to download on Google Play.
