How to Watch Every March Madness Game on SHIELD

By William O'Neal - Mon, Mar 13, 2017

For sports fans everywhere March means two things: Spring Training and the NCAA March Madness. OK, maybe I’m the only one who actually cares about Spring Training since March Madness is all that anyone is really talking about. Of course, many SHIELD users are passionate about cord-cutting, so we love to help them learn how to consume the content that they’re most excited about. Which raises the obvious question: How to stream all of March Madness on the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV?

The “Madness” all started this past weekend with Selection Sunday when the teams that have qualified for the tournament were announced. The games themselves will all air on either CBS, truTV, TNT or TBS, and SHIELD owners have a bevy of ways to watch every single game of March Madness.

The Official NCAA March Madness Live app is the best way to watch EVERY game from the tournament

Cast the Games to Your SHIELD With the Official March Madness App

With its support for Google Cast (so you don’t need to buy a separate Chromecast dongle), the best way for NVIDIA SHIELD users to experience the games is with the official NCAA March Madness Live app. This free app gives SHIELD users access to every single game during the tournament. Simply install the app on your mobile device, I installed it on my SHIELD tablet K1, and you can easily cast the games to your SHIELD Android TV to enjoy the them on the big screen. Of course, the app works with both Android and iOS devices so most phones and tablets work.

Get March Madness updates with the CBS Sports app

CBS All Access and CBS Sports: Stream Your Favorite Games

For the games airing on CBS, fire up the CBS All Access app on your SHIELD to watch the games that are airing live on CBS in your area. CBS All Access Is $5.99 / month but it also gives you on-demand access to pretty much everything that CBS has to offer. For March Madness highlights and other videos and commentary you can’t beat the CBS Sports app. This free app really gives you the ability to dive even deeper into everything March Madness natively on SHIELD.

Watch Live Sports Broadcasts with SlingTV and PlayStation Vue!

When it comes to sports, SlingTV (plans start at $20 / month) and PlayStation Vue (plans start at $39.99 / month) are easily our favorite apps. In addition to channels like HGTV and A&E, SlingTV and PlayStation Vue are a great way for SHIELD users to watch live broadcasts of March Madness games on CBS, TNT, and TBS. Be sure to check this schedule so that you can know when to fire up the games that you’re most interested in.

Get NCAA March Madness highlights and updates from ESPN, TNT, and TBS on the SlingTV app

While none of the games themselves will air on ESPN or ESPN2, you can use SlingTV and PlayStation Vue on SHIELD to watch all of ESPN’s coverage of March Madness. From pre and postgame coverage to expert analysis, you can’t beat the ESPN team from Bristol.

So there you have it. If you’re a fan of March Madness, get ready to fire up that NVIDIA SHIELD and go crazy.
