Warhammer 40K: Space Marine - Play It on SHIELD with GeForce NOW

Do you like Sci-fi? Do you like heavy armor? How about getting dirty on the field of battle? Then drop what you’re doing and fire up Warhammer 40K: Space Marine! We released this game today on NVIDIA SHIELD, and it’s free for all GeForce NOW members to enjoy.

As the title implies, the action game is based on Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K universe and does its best to stay true to that cannon. Relic Entertainment (Company of Heroes, Homeworld, and Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War) takes the license and serves up a gritty, visceral, in-your-face action experience that’s sure to please both fans of the tabletop miniature wargames and newcomers alike.

Kill a Million Orks? No Problem for Space Marine Captain Titus!

An army of Orks a million strong has invaded an Imperial Forge World – a planet-sized factory that churns out war machines to aid humanity’s never-ending struggle for survival. You are Captain Titus, a Space Marine of the Ultramarines chapter (the “baddest of the bad”), and losing the planet is simply not an option!

Space Marines are nine-foot super-humans that are bred for one purpose: battle. They wear heavy suits of armor with massive shoulder pads that would make NFL linebackers green with envy and wield an array of immensely powerful energy-infused melee and ranged weaponry. In the tabletop universe it’s no great feat for a single Space Marine to take out 20 or so Orks. But you’re no ordinary Space Marine – you’re the leader of the elite Ultramarines – and you and your team are going to have to do a whole lot better than that.

As Titus, you’ll lead a squad of Ultramarine vets through a series of brutal missions that have a singular purpose: Hold off the Forces of Chaos until an Imperial liberation fleet carrying reinforcements arrives.

Unleash Unbridled Fury in this Warhammer 40K Action Game

This action game is played via a third-person perspective that enables the best-possible view of the carnage you unleash in battle. You start out with a basic combat knife and pistol and gain access to increasingly powerful weapons as you play through the missions. How does a massive hammer you can use to stun dozens of Orks at a time and then smash them into bits sound? Power axe? Chainsaw? You get the idea…

The melee weapons are perhaps the most fun, due to their over-the-top nature against the overwhelming numbers of enemies you face. However the energy-based ranged weapons, such as your mainstay bolter pistol, are no slouches either. You can carry up to four guns at a time, each with unique uses, and upgrade them as you play.

And your suit is for more than just show and personal protection. Not only does it have regenerative powers but you can use it for offensive rugby-style shoulder charges that obliterate weak opponents and stun more powerful ones.
