This Week on SHIELD, we’re all about the game Clustertruck in the Android Store, the Sling TV app, just in time for the NBA and NHL playoffs to get real interesting, “Silicon Valley” on HBO, and “Al Madrigal: Shrimpin' Ain't Easy” on SHOWTIME.
Imagine a game that combines the rules of the childhood game “The Floor is Lava” with the highway chase scene from “Matrix: Reloaded”, and you’ll have a good feel for this frenetic game. Clustertruck will drop you into 90 levels spread out over nine distinct environments with a simple goal: hop, skip and jump your way along the top of a moving caravan of semi-trucks until you reach the finish line.
It used to be that sports was the exclusive domain of the cable and satellite companies. Not anymore! In addition to PlayStation Vue, Sling TV is now airing live, sports and is one of the best ways to watch the NBA and NHL playoffs. With Sling you can watch NBA games on ESPN, TNT, and ABC, and post and pre game commentaty on NBA TV. Hockey fans get national games on NBC, NBC Sports Network, and commentary from the NHL Network. Sling TV offers two levels of service, Sling orange ($20 / month) and Sling Blue ($25 / month). Your best bet is to head over to Sling’s web site to figure out which plan offers the live, local sports in your area.
Daily Show alumni seem to really do well, and such is the case with with Al Madrigal. Having cut his comedic teeth on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,” Al Madrigal gets into everything from cilantro politics, anger management, and a tale of seafood revenge in his latest comedy special, “Al Madrigal: Shrimpin' Ain't Easy.” SHIELD users can stream this live, stand-up performance on the SHOWTIME app.
Partially inspired by co-creator Mike Judge's experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the 1980s, this comedy series follows the misadventures of introverted computer programmer Richard and his brainy friends as they attempt to strike it rich in a high-tech gold rush. Season three of “Silicon Valley” is currently streaming on HBO NOW.
