By William O'Neal - Thu, Feb 2, 2017

This Week on SHIELD,, we’re excited about the game Just Cause 2 on GeForce NOW, one of our favorite apps, Plex, that now supports photo tagging, the TV Show “The Young Pope” on HBO NOW, and the movie “The Magnificent Seven” streaming on Amazon Video, Vudu, Fandango NOW, and Google Play.

Of course, we also want to know what’s on YOUR SHIELD, so hit us up on Twitter with the hashtag #twos and let us know what you’re rocking this week and maybe we’ll show you some love the following week.

Game: Just Cause 2 streaming on GeForce NOW

We have another great action-adventure experience for SHIELD owners with the addition of Just Cause 2 to GeForce NOW’s membership library. This title is available immediately for all GeForce NOW members to enjoy at no additional charge. As agent Rico Rodriguez, your job is to find and kill your former mentor who has disappeared on the fictional island paradise of Panau in Southeast Asia. With more than 400 square miles of virtual terrain to explore, and hundreds of weapons to discover and wreak havoc with, Just Cause 2 is an adrenaline-pumping thrill ride from start to finish.

Plex (now with Photo-Tagging)

App: Plex (now with Photo-Tagging)

One of our favorite cord-cutting apps for NVIDIA SHIELD is Plex. While keeping things in the cloud has surely taken off, the fact remains that a lot of us still have terabytes of media content. From movies and music to TV shows and pictures, Plex for SHIELD Android TV lets you keep your content in one place while streaming it to any manner of data to pretty much any device imaginable. Now, Plex boasts “the magic of automatic photo-tagging.” With “automagic” image-tagging technology, Plex now makes it easier to search through all your libraries for an even more enjoyable photo viewing experience. Plex's photo-tagging feature requires a Plex Pass subscription (plans start at $4.99 / month). In addition to photo-tagging, Plex Pass gives users exclusive access to additional features and app as well as the ability record TV for free over the air, sync your media for offline offline viewing just to name a few.

Movie: “The Magnificent Seven” streaming on Amazon Video, Vudu, Fandango NOW, and Google Play

Based on Akira Kurosawa’s “The Seven Samurai,” “The Magnificent Seven” is the story of the town of Rose Creek which is under the violent control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue. Desperate for protection, the beleaguered townspeople hire a band of outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns. With a star-studded cast including Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, and Vincent D'Onofrio just to name a few, the town readies for what will ultimately be a violent showdown. “The Magnificent Seven” streaming on Amazon Video, Vudu, Fandango NOW, and Google Play.

TV show: “The Young Pope” on HBO NOW

“The Young Pope” is the story of newly elected Pius XIII, aka Lenny Belardo, who also happens to be the first American Pope in history. Resistant to his Vatican “stewards,” Pius XIII (played by Jude Law) chooses to rely on Sister Mary (played by Diane Keaton) to serve as his chief adviser. This 10-episode series is currently streaming on HBO NOW.
