If you’ve been looking forward to playing the second episode of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and you have a Tegra 3-powered Android device, you’re in for some good news: the game has launched and you can download it right now from Google Play.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II and Episode Metal will be available for most Android devices in June and should arrive on Windows Mobile Phones before July rolls around, but there’s no reason to wait if you don’t have to. Sonic and his good friend Miles "Tails" Power are ready to rumble immediately.
"Sonic 4 Episode II is very special because we’ve integrated community feedback into the game," said Haruki Satomi, Senior Vice President of Digital Business at Sega of America. "We have some of the most loyal and dedicated fans and I hope they enjoy this next chapter in the Sonic 4 saga."
Sega notes that the Tegra 3 version of the game is the most technically advanced mobile version of the game, and the one that comes closest to matching the console experience that some gamers are already enjoying on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The portable edition has been optimized to take advantage of the Tegra 3 4-PLUS-1 quad-core processor, so hopefully you can look forward to a game with all of the blazing speed you’d expect from your favorite blue hedgehog.
