Designed by Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes of the aptly named Team Meat, Super Meat Boy is an indie platformer that was the successor to the 2008 Flash game titled...well...Meat Boy.
Gameplay consists of the player controlling Meat Boy, a fairly simple, red, cube-like character. Tasked with rescuing his girlfriend, Bandage Girl, from Dr. Fetus you’ll be required to run and jump Meat Boy through hundreds of levels, broken up into chapters, all the while avoiding obstacles that consist of everything from crumbling blocks and an assortment of saws in this challenging android game.
Additionally, many gamers appreciate the fact that the levels, or chapters, can be played in whatever order the gamer prefers in this platformer. That said, you’ll have to complete a certain number of levels to take on the game’s bosses.
Praised for its challenging gameplay and retro look and feel, SHIELD users will no doubt love this platformer title. Be warned though that the level of difficulty is nothing to shake a stick at as this android game requires a high level of control and timing. We really appreciate the fact that you can replay each level infinitely until you figure it out. Of course, you’ll be met by the grim reminders of your previous failures as the hunks of meat that used to be Meat Boy remain in the levels.
Super Meat Boy android game is currently available for NVIDIA SHIELD and you can download this fun platformer title on the Google Play Store today. If you don’t already own an NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV, run out and grab one today.
