Stories: The Path of Destinies - Play It Instantly on SHIELD with GeForce NOW

By Steve Klett - Tue, May 10, 2016

The “Choose Your Own Adventure” series of children’s books let you decide how each story played out, and they are awesome. Wouldn’t it be fun if there was a game that let you do the same thing?

This week’s new addition to the GeForce NOW store, an action/RPG called Stories: The Path of Destinies, is just such a game! Members can purchase this title for for the special introductory price of $13.40, which is a 10% savings off the standard $14.99 price. This price is good through May 17 and includes instant and unlimited streaming rights on SHIELD. Plus, you’ll receive a digital download code with purchase that you can redeem on Steam to install a local copy of the game.

Action, Exploration, Romance - this Action/RPG Has it All

Meet Reynardo the Fox. He fancies himself a clever rogue but managed to get himself sucked into a rebellion against an evil Emperor, whose daughter he loves by the way. A veteran airship captain and pirate, he’s suddenly faced with a sea of choices, or a seemingly endless number of ways to royally screw things up for everyone.

You’ll have to prove just how clever he is by helping guide his choices and learn from his mistakes. Of course, there’s more than simply a narrative to navigate in this action RPG. You’ll have to master both magic-based and physical combat while wielding any of an array of swords and spells, for instance. And, you’ll have to pull off a variety of platform-style moves to past the deadly obstacles the fantasy setting throws at you.

Stories: The Path of Destinies Provides a Unique Action/Adventure Experience

As you can tell from the trailer above, this isn’t your standard RPG fare. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Stories: The Path of Destinies’ incredible hand-drawn artwork and detailed, vibrant fairytale setting will compel you to sit down and play. And its tongue-in-cheek humor and unique story presentation will keep you playing.

Once you “finish” you might just start over again as the experience will be different each time you play, depending on the choices you make. This action RPG is divided into chapters and before each you must make a decision, such as trying to find a powerful weapon instead of rescuing a dear friend. Either could give you something vital you need to achieve victory, but which one?

And therein lies the challenge - finding the one true path to your goal amongst the many options presented to you. There’s a lot of trial and error involved but each time you face a particular challenge, or foe, you’ll be a bit stronger and hopefully a bit smarter. Plus, like the books, you’ll likely find that going down the “wrong” path is just as much fun as the “right” one!
