Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories follows the story line of Toni Cipriani, who previously appeared in Grand Theft Auto III. Toni returns to Liberty City after an enforced exile abroad. Upon his return he meets his old boss Salvatore Leone who fixes Toni up with an apartment and regular work, thus setting him on the path to becoming a made man, albeit via a circuitous route of crime and treachery, —all the key ingredients for a great GTA experience.

This being a return to Liberty City, the game’s map is similar to the one featured in GTA III, but there are a number of key game play differences and enhancements. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories has more indoor environments to explore, inventory items to collect and vehicles to control, the latter of which includes new motorcycles and helicopters. Crucially, the game also features the far more flexible camera system found in subsequent games in the GTA series.
