Developed by BioWare (creators of the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series) in 2003 for the original Xbox and PC, Knights of the Old Republic is held in high regard in many gamers' minds. This deep, award-winning, role-playing game has seen new life on plenty of occasions, including a port to Mac, iOS devices, and it recently made its way on to Android. Its story takes place approximately 4,000 years before the Galactic Empire is formed, at the height of the battle against the Sith.

The Star Wars theme, at a time when the Jedi were many, is a fantastic setting, but that's not all that makes this game great. In addition to the deep story, players are treated to a decision making process that impacts how characters will respond to you and ultimately how the story will turn out. Make mostly Light Side decisions, and you could become the great hero of the galaxy. Dark Side decisions will lead you toward a different path. This dual sided morality system would evolve to become part of other massively popular games like Mass Effect. Players must also manage over a personal inventory of weapons and armor, in addition to character statistics, then do the same for any party members they might have. Also, let's not forget that you also wield the power of The Force to use against your enemies.

Playing Knights of the Old Republic works well on mobile devices, and the game does not need a separate controller, although they are supported. This is the perfect game to play during long trips, like on a plane. Movement is controlled by dragging your finger across the screen to make characters move. The game automatically pauses whenever you encounter an enemy, giving you time to assign targets and queue up commands. Knights of the Old Republic for Android also features a number of subtle graphical improvements over the original release. There are also, for the first time, achievements to earn.

If you're looking for an amazing role-playing experience, then Knights of the Old Republic is the game to get. It is regarded as the best Star Wars RPG ever made. Harness the power of The Force, customize a character, build your own lightsaber, and make decisions that will determine the fate of the galaxy.
