Developed by Polish studio Vivid Games—the same folks behind the Tegra-enhanced boxing simulator Real Boxing—Godfire: Rise of Prometheus casts players as Greek hero Prometheus in a third-person, carnage-rife action experience.
From the looks at the game, it appears to take some creative inspiration from Sony’s God of War franchise as it pits players against an array of mythological monstrosities—many of which are taken right out of Greek legend—in weapons-based combat scenarios.
Its vibrantly violent visuals also take advantage of the Unreal Engine 3. Even in its pre-alpha stage of development, Godfire is already quite gorgeous.
“With Godfire: Rise of Prometheus, we’re building upon the high standards in graphics and gameplay that we achieved in Real Boxing and taking the Unreal 3 engine to fantastic new heights” said Remi Koscielny, CEO of Vivid Games. “To help with this process, we’ve partnered with Oscar-nominated animation studio Platige Image, to work with us on the design, animation and other graphical elements of the game...”
Vivid Games will release God Fire: Rise of Prometheus for Android-based devices in early 2014.
