The first social game based on Marvel’s iconic super hero characters, Avengers Alliance, is launching on Android smartphone and tablet devices later this month. This release from Disney’s Playdom brings the expansive Marvel Universe and original Marvel: Avengers Alliance storyline to gamers and Super Hero fans alike via mobile screens.

Avengers Alliance features turn-based combat in a role-playing experience that features a cast of more than 40 familiar Marvel Super Heroes and 180 Super Villains. The game takes place in the wake of a galaxy-wide disaster known as “the Pulse,” which exposes Manhattan to attack from the world’s most formidable villains. Players are recruited as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., the secret peace-keeping organization of the Marvel Universe, to enlist and lead teams of Super Heroes, such as Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Spider-Man and more. Players unlock Super Hero allies and abilities, train their teams, and test their mettle against the deadliest foes the world has ever seen.

All of the epic story developments that have unfolded in Marvel: Avengers Alliance on Facebook are available for play upon its launch on mobile. Players will have no time to lose before embarking on over 60 crime-fighting missions, with additional missions and chapters to come. The world doesn’t stop growing, though, as all S.H.I.E.L.D. agents can expect ongoing updates with new missions, storylines, Super Heroes, upgraded abilities, equipment, weapons and costumes for unlock and purchase.

Avengers Alliance makes a secret agent out of any mobile gamer and Marvel fan, and recruits them into the most otherworldly adventure they’ve ever experienced. The game is continually evolving with new missions that tie into movie releases like Iron Man 3.
