Caped Crusader fans are in for a treat with the release of Batman: Arkham Knight on SHIELD. “Be the Batman” as never before as you experience the concluding chapter of Warner Bros. epic Batman Arkham series!

Batman’s nemesis, Scarecrow, is at it again: He’s united Gotham’s super criminals in a vile plot to take over the city and eliminate Batman once and for all. Armed with a slew of new combat moves, detective skills and enhancements, and the awesome power of the Batmobile (oh yeah!), you must take to the streets to save the city you love one final time.

If you’ve not played any of the previous Arkham games, don’t worry: Arkham Knight was designed to be easily accessible to new players and to fill in enough of the backstory for you to be able to step right into the action. And, should you want to experience more of that story once you finish Arkham Knight, you will be glad to know that all the previous games - Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Origins are all included in GeForce NOW’s membership library.

For the first time in the series Arkham Knight gives you complete freedom to explore every nook and cranny of Gotham City as you wish, choosing which leads to follow and which fights to take on, and which to avoid, as you find the path to your ultimate showdown with Scarecrow. The city is massive, and rendered in stunning detail, and this time - in another first for the series - you’ll have the Batmobile to help you get around!

And as you’d hope, the Batmobile is far more than just a stylish way to quickly get from point A to point B. This ride is brimming with a host of options that will help you take out the bad guys. Drive around or through obstacles, and use the Batmobile’s impressive array of high-tech gadgetry to enhance your navigational, combat, forensic and even puzzle-solving skills.

And you’ll need every ounce of horsepower, firepower and intelligence the Batmobile brings to the fray as you engage the likes of Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Two-Face, the Riddler - and Scarecrow’s powerful new ally, the Arkham Knight. We’ll not disclose too much about this guy, let’s just say he’s sort of Batman’s bizarro twin and he’s out for blood - yours!

Arkham Knight Gameplay and Cast

Just like previous games in the series, Arkham Knight presents the action from a third-person perspective, which helps give you that “bat’s eye” view of Gotham and helping to do things like spot ideal spots to use your grappling hook to reach good vantage points to survey areas before you enter them, and the best glide paths to get the drop on your enemy - or enemies, which is usually the case.

But Batman’s at his best when outnumbered, and he’s able to not only dish out punishment but take it as well. It’s all-out war on the streets of Gotham with high numbers of criminals roaming the streets, and you’ll want to take as many of them out as possible to keep Gotham’s citizens safe. And you’ll do most of this the up-close-and-personal way: hand-to-hand combat. (While there’s no bubble text, you can still expect lots of “BIFFS”, “BOFFS”, and “WHAMS”!)

It’ll take more than mere button mashing to beat the odds, too. You’ll need to learn opponent’s moves and use Batman’s impressive assortment of familiar and all-new combat moves to counter them in the most efficient manner - especially when heavily outnumbered.

With each successful combat encounter you’ll earn experience points you can use to unlock upgrades for Batman’s special combat moves, allowing you to essentially create your own vision for Batman. Then, in combat, you can string together these moves for incredibly powerful takedowns.

And, Arkham series vets will no doubt appreciate the all-new Most Wanted side missions, which present you with the opportunity to chase down individual villains and earn generous experience rewards in the process.
