Use the following steps to set-up your PC for GAMESTREAM:
Connect both SHIELD and PC to the same Wi-Fi router.
For best performance, it is recommended that the PC is connected using an Ethernet link to the router and SHIELD is connected using the 5G channel to the router.
Install GeForce display driver (Release 331.82 or higher).
Go to My Rig and verify your PC meets the hardware requirements for game streaming.
Install Steam, or if it is already installed, verify you are patched to 12/2 or later. To make sure you have the latest Steam Client, you need to subscribe to the Steam Beta Client (which will cause Steam to restart and install an update). The update ensures that you have the latest Steam fixes and features.
To subscribe to Steam Client Beta:
Open the main Steam window and select SteamSettings to open the Settings window.
Select Change .
Select Steam Beta Update.
Select OK to begin downloading the Client update.
Log into Steam using Online mode.
Make sure that the games you want to stream have been installed and previously launched at least once (with patches/etc applied) from your PC.
Press on your SHIELD.
Select PC Games.
Select your PC to pair with from the list of available PCs.
This is a one-time pairing pop-up window.
A list of supported PC games available for streaming from your PC are listed in the window.
Tip: We recommend launching your games at least once on the PC BEFORE launching through SHIELD to install all the prerequisites (VC Redists, DirectX ect..) and set up all DRM features (Games For Windows Live, SocialClub ect…).
Select a game from the list and press on your SHIELD to play the game. The following message window opens to show some tips in navigating the streaming experience on SHIELD.
