It’s hard to watch bicycle motocross races or freestyle bike competitions and not marvel at the skills exhibited by the riders - and then not want to emulate them. For most of us, however, the fear of a a quick trip to the hospital stops us. This week’s new GeForce NOW release on SHIELD, BMX Pumped +, lets you experience the thrills of this extreme sport without going over the handlebars.
Developed by one-man studio Yeah Us!, BMX Pumped + represents what Indie games are all about: Passion. Frustrated by the lack of BMX-focused titles, Yeah Us!’s “one man”, Adam Hunt, taught himself to program and created BMX Pumped + for all of us to enjoy.
You’ll appreciate the tight controls and the thumpin’ soundtrack as you race, jump, and stunt your way through 50 levels and 500 challenges. Each trick you pull off has to be crazier and more difficult than the last to score the points you’ll need to keep advancing. And you don’t have to be a BMX fan to enjoy the game’s silky smooth animations and realistic physics.
You start by creating your own custom bike and rider, and then it’s off to the races. However, BMX is about more than crossing the finish line first - you also need to earn style points by pulling off unique combinations of tricks. A stable of eight basic and eight advanced tricks gives you almost unlimited creativity as you work your way through tracks strewn with half-pipes, loops, and death-defying jumps.
Give BMX Pumped + a try and you may just find yourself hooked by the challenge of pulling off the radical stunts. Enjoy the freedom to indulge your extreme sport cravings - without needing bandages, casts, crutches, or worse, afterwards!
To play, navigate to the GeForce NOW menu within SHIELD Hub on your SHIELD Android TV, portable or tablet. You’ll find BMX Pumped + available in the Membership category at no additional charge.
